Club President's News Corner..

Dear Fellow Rotarians
January, 2010

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season and are starting the New Year off right. Now that we’ve had a couple weeks without Rotary meetings, it’s time to get back on track.

December was a busy month for us. Janet Groom was amazing in pulling together our Fruit Fundraiser. Despite some Fruit Emergencies, members stepped in to make the fundraiser a success and raising $500 for the club. Everyone was also marvelous filling all of the Bell Ringing spots and although I haven’t heard the final numbers from Dave, I trust we had a good year. I know that people seemed very charitable while I was ringing the bell. We also enjoyed a lovely Holiday Party with our fellow Rotarians from the Catamount Club. And although the water main break prohibited us from visiting the Museum, Dan and Julie hosted a great party at Alldays for us. My thanks go out to Sue Katz who organized both that party and our Holiday Luncheon the week before Christmas. We all enjoyed the festive atmosphere and the lovely program thanks to Dave Newell.

December also saw the induction of three new members to the Club. We welcomed Scott Kreutz, Robert Ebert and Brian McKenna. Ken Norris has also been approved as a member of the Club. Once a glitch in his schedule is resolved, he will be formally inducted as well. New members are so important to the health and future of our Club, I am thrilled to see our Club growing.

Our Nominations Committee has been hard at work putting together the Board for next year. We will be presenting the full slate for the Club’s approval soon, but in the meantime, I can tell you that we are very fortunate to have Ted Bird stepping in as President and Dave Newell as Vice President. With these two in charge, the sky’s the limit!

Looking forward, we have the Spaghetti Supper coming up. I am sure that everyone will work together to make this a success as always.
